Engineering

Data Engineering.
Lead level.

Building robust data systems, leading technical teams, and bridging the gap between engineering complexity and human clarity.

The engineer behind
the educator.

My path into Data Engineering was not linear — and that non-linearity is an asset, not a liability. I carry a BTech in Computer Science, sharpened through years of self-directed learning, rebuilt after a gap that was anything but empty.

Today I operate at lead level — owning Analytics & Reporting Platform, mentoring junior engineers, and taking accountability for systems that matter. I bring to engineering the same quality I bring to teaching: the ability to make complex things clear.

Over the years, I’ve worked on a bunch of different things, from data migrations to web apps. Let me share a few highlights.

→ Scalable Data Governance- From Legacy SQL to dbt:
When I took over our legacy data warehouse, we were hampered by over 200 monolithic stored procedures that lacked visibility and version control. I spearheaded the strategic migration to dbt, fundamentally changing how our team ships data. By treating our pipelines like software—implementing CI/CD, automated testing, and comprehensive documentation—we didn't just refactor code, we modernized our entire delivery lifecycle. This shift established a definitive 'single source of truth' for our executive dashboards and rebuilt the business's trust in our data through consistent, verifiable accuracy.

→ Automating Power BI Report Delivery:
One of my favorite projects was transforming how our organization handles data delivery. I built a centralized orchestration engine using Python and the Power BI REST API to move the company away from manual 'report chasing.' By deploying on Azure App Service and integrating Key Vault for security, I turned a fragmented process into a production grade internal product. I also baked in automated monitoring and centralized logging, ensuring that the platform wasn't just fast, but resilient enough to alert us before the business even realized there was a hiccup.

→ CDC & SCD Made Simple:
Change Data Capture and Slowly Changing Dimensions sound complicated, but I wanted to make them easy for business users. So I designed a framework where they just click a button, and boom — CDC or SCD is set up across databases, schemas, and tables. No technical steps needed, the app handles everything behind the scenes.

→ Enterprise Leasing Engine & Market Intelligence Platform:
To tackle the complexities of the student housing market in the central USA, I engineered a high-performance backend using FastAPI to handle multi-dimensional data—managing everything from lease durations and room inventories to real-time revenue tracking. I prioritized a secure-by-design approach, implementing OAuth2 for granular role-based access control to protect sensitive financial and tenant information. The system also features a specialized benchmarking engine that ingests competitor data, allowing for direct performance comparisons and data-driven pricing strategies.

→ SQL Server to Snowflake Migration:
This migration was part of the organization’s cloud-first strategy and infrastructure modernization. By moving to Snowflake, we shifted away from the hassle of managing infrastructure and leaned into a platform where everything is built-in — scalability, performance, and data safety. That meant the team could stop worrying about servers and start focusing on what really matters: using data to drive business decisions and enablement.

Built to Rebuild

I have rebuilt my career from scratch. I know how to reskill, adapt, and deliver under pressure. It is proof of something most CVs cannot show.

📣

Communication That Lands

16 years of teaching complex subjects has given me an ability to translate technical complexity into language that stakeholders, product teams, and non-technical colleagues can act on.

🧭

Ownership Mentality

At lead level, I do not wait for tasks. I identify problems, propose solutions, and take responsibility for outcomes. That orientation was shaped long before my engineering career.

Mathematical Foundation

A genuine strength in Mathematics — the kind that was built through teaching it, not just studying it — gives me an analytical foundation that goes beyond standard engineering training.
